Frequency of digital payment usage among MSMEs in Africa 2023, by ownership gender

As of June 2023, 41 percent of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Africa used digital payments daily. The frequency of usage was the same for female and male-owned MSMEs in the continent. For both female and male-owned MSMEs, the share for weekly digital payment usage was 28 percent, while the proportion for monthly usage stood at 31 percent.
