Microbiological Characterization of Water and Sediment in Ecuadorian Hydroelectric Reservoirs
收藏资源简介:
This dataset outlines the microbiological profiles of water and sediment samples collected from the Guangopolo and Cumbayá hydroelectric reservoirs in Ecuador. The samples, collected during four field missions, were analyzed for aerobic mesophilic bacteria, total coliforms, and Pseudomonas spp. Additionally, Gram staining and morphological classification were performed using selective culture media, such as EMB, Cetrimide, and Plate Count. This dataset offers valuable insights into the microbial dynamics of tropical freshwater sediments, contributing to research on water quality, environmental risks, and strategies for the circular economy in sediment reuse. Special thanks to Empresa Electrica Quito, which allowed sampling to be carried out in the Cumbayá and Guangopolo reservoirs under Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement No. CONV-SG-011-2024.
