Dataset of results of the Geronte expert panel surveys

A panel of experts was established, including medical specialists, nurses and other health care professionals with a background in geriatric medicine or involved in cancer treatment for the four cancer types included in GerOnTe (breast, prostate, lung and colorectal cancer). We aimed to include a full range of involved specialists, from different European, with variation in the degree of current involvement in geriatric oncology care as well as years in practice, and a representative gender ratio.  

In a series of monthly surveys, these experts were asked to provide their input on the relevance of various comorbidities, and intrinsic capacity/frailty items for decision-making and care for each of these cancer types and the treatment modalities that are available for them. They also provided input on the multimorbidity profiles, composition of the health care professional consortium, as well as symptom monitoring and self-management (described elsewhere). Answers from each survey round were subsequently compiled, compared with findings from the literature reviews, and taken forward to the next survey for further fine-tuning.
