Recurring mutations found in mouse Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) genomes, if also found in human AML genomes, are extremely likely to be relevant for disease pathogenesis. We will therefore sequence the genomes of 14 APL tumors arising in a well defined mouse model, define recurring mutations in an exteneded set of mouse APL tumors, and compare these mutations to those found in human APL tumors. This is one of several projects at The Genome Institute involving mouse models of human cancer.
