THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION AND ITS IMPACT ON GLOBAL ECONOMIC STABILITY

This article examines the significance and potential limitations of the World Trade Organization (WTO) with respect to its anticipated impact on the economic landscape of Uzbekistan. Full membership of Uzbekistan in the WTO is expected to be formally confirmed in March 2026. Accession to the WTO is projected to enhance macroeconomic performance and foster the development of more competitive and efficient markets within the country. While the membership is associated with numerous long-term benefits, it may also entail certain short-term challenges that could exert pressure on domestic entrepreneurship. However, whether these challenges should be considered genuine disadvantages remains subject to further analysis. The present study is therefore intended to explore and evaluate these issues in a systematic and comprehensive manner.
