Draft Whole-Genome Sequence of a Clinical Isolate of Acinetobacter baumanii from Dhaka, Bangladesh

This study reports the draft whole-genome sequence of a multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolate (VRE-4_S12) obtained from a clinical sample in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A. baumannii is an opportunistic pathogen associated with hospital-acquired infections and poses a significant public health threat due to its high antimicrobial resistance and environmental persistence. Whole-genome sequencing was performed using Illumina paired-end technology to facilitate genomic characterization and support ongoing efforts in antimicrobial resistance surveillance and comparative genomics of Acinetobacter species from South Asia.
