Thematic Coding Dataset on Leadership, Culture, and Performance

This dataset contains coded qualitative interview data examining the relationship between strategic leadership and organisational culture within the Indian oil and gas industry. Eight industry consultants participated in semi‑structured interviews, and their responses were analysed using a deductive thematic approach. Themes were pre‑defined based on existing literature and refined through manual coding in Microsoft Excel. The dataset includes four coding matrices aligned with the study’s hypotheses, covering leadership style, organisational culture, employee performance, safety culture, crisis management, and the effects of the COVID‑19 pandemic and the Great Resignation. Each participant’s responses were categorised into thematic codes, with frequency counts provided for comparative analysis. This dataset supports research on leadership behaviour, organisational culture dynamics, safety practices, and crisis response in high‑risk industries. All data are anonymised, and no personally identifiable information is included.
