The data set is of patients that were attending diabetes eye screening clinic at a rural district hospital in Malawi. The variables are as follows i. Age in years ii. Sex :1=Male 0=Female iii. Level of education : Ophthalmology: 1= Primary school 2= Secondary school 3= Post secondary education 4= No formal education iv. Duration of diabetes in years v. Type of diabetes: 1=Type 1 2= Type 2 vi. History of hypertension 1= Hypertension 0= No hypertension vii. HIV status 1= Reactive 2= Non-reactive 3= Unknown viii. Clinic attendance frequency in months ix. Awareness availability of DR screening 1= Aware 0=Not aware x. Uptake of DR screening (history of dilated eye exam for DR screening in the past year) 1= Yes 0=No xi. History of referral for DR screening by clinician in Diabetes Clinic not referred reffered xii. Visual acuity of patients according to WHO classification 1= Normal vision 2= Visual impairement 3= Severe visual impairement 4=Blindness
