mRNA and small RNA libraries from Glossina brevipalpis and morsitans species

The goal of this data is to allow for the visualization of mRNA and small RNA expression within females of two distantly related tsetse fly (Glossinidae) species and organs. Data collected from bacteriomes and aposymbiotic tissue composed of the cardia and crop from Glossina morsitans morsitans and Glossina brevipalpis. For G. morsitans both mated and virgin flies were collected. G. brevipalpis flies are all mated. Bacterial RNA may be present from Wigglesworthia sp. and Sodalis glossinidius. Results may demonstrate the role of conserved RNA expression in maintaining the symbiosis between Wigglesworthia and tsetse which is essential to reproduction.
