*E represents the residual expression of the particular gene after the effect of experimental variation is removed. The first term in the model (intercept) is the mean residual expression of the gene in the vineyard strain with all four oak QTN (Vineyard OOOO). Each subsequent term in the model represents the gene expression effect of replacing the oak allele of the particular QTN with the vineyard allele in the Vineyard OOOO strain (−/+ indicates direction of effect). Only significant terms in the model are shown Pr(>|t|)#R-squared value obtained from applying the full model containing all possible main and interaction effects between the four sporulation QTN.
