LBA observations for project V252 semester 2020OCTS

Continuing its record of maximizing scientific returns from the monitoring of southern hemisphere AGN, the TANAMI VLBI program is setting the stage for the emerging TeV era by starting observations in the 2.3 GHz band where TeV blazars are brighter. In addition to anchoring multiple studies of AGN jets, TANAMI plays a central role in the amazing emerging world of multi-messenger astrophysics. We request continuation of this conspicuously fruitful program into the era when TeV instruments overlap with the GeV observations by Fermi/LAT during which VLBI observations remain the only tool to obtain parsec scale kinematics and morphology of AGN. The TANAMI program uniquely provides jet parameters and structural change information which are indispensable to the understanding the open questions about AGN jet physics. Its long time-baseline of a large sample of southern AGN will be one of the richest legacy datasets produced by the LBA.
