Functional Algal Feeds in Aquaculture: Gut Recovery in Gilthead Seabream through Micro- and Macroalgae Supplementation
收藏资源简介:
This data set contains the results from a nutritional trial performed at the Centro de Ciências do Mar do Algarve (CCMAR, Faro, Portugal) within the framework of the EATFISH project (European Aquaculture Training for improving Seafood Husbandry, Marie Skłodowska–Curie Innovative Training Network, GA 956697). This experiment aimed to assess whether a nutritional intervention (diet including micro- and macroalgae, Phaedactylum tricornutum and Gracilaria gracilis, respectively) could help intestinal recovery in gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) after an insult. Gilthead seabream juveniles (176 ± 0.32 g) were assisted-fed with gelatine capsules containing 850 mg of soy saponins (CTRL+S, PHA, GRA, and BLEND treatments) or empty capsules (CTRL treatment). After 72 h, CTRL and CTRL+S groups were fed the control diet (commercial-like diet), while PHA, GRA, and BLEND treatments received their respective algae-supplemented diets: PHA – control diet supplemented with Phaeodactylum tricornutum at 2.5%, GRA – control diet supplemented with Gracilaria gracilis at 2.5%, or BLEND – control diet supplemented at 5% with micro- and macroalgae (50:50).
