Metagenomics study of Ravindra Kala Bhavan - Heritage Building of University College at Mangaluru

Ravindra Kala Bhavan is the main hall of University College, a constituent College of Mangalore University Mangaluru, Karnataka, India, established 150 years ago. A Nobel Prize winner for Literature, Sri Ravindranath Tagore inaugurated this Bhavan in 1922 hence names as Ravindra Kala Bhavan. Due to its architecture and historic importance, UGC has honoured with 'HERITAGE' tag to this building. Various debris samples of R K Bhavan were collected for analysis during its renovation work in 2017. The metagenomics analysis of it reflects the microflora of the monument way back in 1868.
