The study follows a selection of teacher students (n = 475) from teacher education programs in Norway over time with measurements in 2011, 2012/2013 and 2013. The project consisted of three parts where the data collection for part 1 of the project was financed by the Faculty of Psychology, University of Bergen. The data collections for parts 2 and 3 were financed and are owned by PHS. Part 1 was a paper-based survey, part 2 followed the participants up with a web-based questionnaire, and part 3 followed up some of the participants with an interview. This dataset includes data from part 2 and part 3 of the project.
The two overarching research questions were (1) how teacher students experience the ethical aspects of using Facebook, and (2) how teacher students handle the combination of use of private information through social networks in their professional development as future teachers. The project was the norwegian part of an international research project initiated by professor Brita Bjørkelo and lecturer Zoe Morris (Monash University).
