Main constraints experienced by house builders in England 2023

Over half of SME house builders in England considered that the planning system was one of the main constraints hindering them from building more homes in 2023. Also over half of respondents considered that the restricted availability of mortgages was a problem. Meanwhile, 48 percent of English house builders also mentioned the lack of available and viable land as one of their main challenges.
