Soil bacterial communities along climatic gradients

We sampled 80 sites along temperature and aridity gradients across Greenland, Europe, Spain, the Swiss Alps and South Africa. Bacterial 16S rRNA genes were sequenced to link bacterial communities with changes in climatic conditions as well as soil and vegetation properties along the gradients. Natural climatic gradients serve as a proxy for climate change.
