The goal is to provide a high contiguity WGS assembly and RNA-seq experimental evidence for de novo and homology-based genome annotation for Drosophila prolongata. For gene expression data used in annotation, whole forelegs were dissected from carbon dioxide anesthetized males and females of the SaPa01 isofemale line, along with dissected heads from mixed-sex of the BaVi44 isofemale line.
