Individual-level dataset of Paragonimus-positive freshwater crabs sampled in Costa Rica

This dataset contains individual-level records for freshwater crabs that tested positivefor Paragonimus metacercariae during laboratory examinations. The dataset includessampling location (province, canton, district, locality, river/stream, and geographiccoordinates), collection date, elevation, host sex, morphometric measurements, molecularidentifiers, PCR results, and the tissue-specific distribution and counts of metacercariae. The dataset was used to support prevalence estimates, parasitological analyses, and figurepreparation in the associated study.
