资源简介:
Bacteroides fragilis is a prominent member of the human gut microbiota and an opportunistic pathogen associated with intra-abdominal infections, abscess formation, and antibiotic resistance. Despite its beneficial role in maintaining gut homeostasis, B. fragilis is also a leading cause of anaerobic bacterial infections. This project aims to perform whole-genome sequencing and analysis of Bacteroides fragilis strains derived from human feces and urban wastewater to better understand their genetic composition, functional capabilities, and potential virulence factors. The genomic data obtained from this study will provide valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying B. fragilis pathogenicity, antimicrobial resistance, and host-microbe interactions. A comparative genomic approach will be used to identify genetic variations among different B. fragilis strains, contributing to a deeper understanding of strain diversity and evolution. Additionally, functional annotation of genes will help elucidate the metabolic pathways involved in bacterial survival, colonization, and resistance mechanisms. This project will serve as a foundation for future studies on B. fragilis biology, including its role in gut health and disease. The genomic data will be made publicly available to support research in microbial genomics, antibiotic resistance, and clinical microbiology. By enhancing our knowledge of B. fragilis at the genomic level, this study aims to facilitate the development of novel therapeutic strategies and inform public health efforts in managing infections caused by this bacterium.
