Rumen microbiome of sheep breeds supplemented with/without probiotics

Study aimed at exploring lactic acid bacteria as safer substitutes of antibiotics as growth promoters in sheep. Characterizing rumen microbial community of two S.African sheep breeds supplemented with lactic acid bacteria as direct-fed microbials to explore the microbial abundance and diversity within breeds and across different treatments.
