Characterizing mercury and metal concentrations in soil and sediment within gold mined areas of Guyana

Mercury (Hg) and metals (As, Cd, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn) concentrations in soils and sediments collected from two gold mines in Guyana (Frenchman and Mahdia, Potaro Mining District) to better understand the degree of contamination locally. Data related to soil and sediment physicochemical properties (pH, OM, texture) are included.
