The study aimed to investigate the substitution of English synonymous verbs: inform, notify, and announce, focusing on the similarities and differences regarding grammatical patterns and noun collocations. The Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English Online (2022) was utilized as the fundamental source for the information of target verb synonyms. The Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) was applied as a major corpus database for data collection.
