Qualitative Coding Dataset for 'Austerity and the Politics of Insecurity: Immigration, Economic Vulnerability, and Political Realignment in Coastal Kent - An Arendtian Lens'

This dataset contains the qualitative thematic coding matrix used to analyse UK parliamentary speech regarding immigration, asylum, and border control between 2001 and 2025 by coastal Kent MPs. Extracted from official transcripts of the Commons Chamber and Westminster Hall, the data maps the longitudinal evolution of political rhetoric over a 24-year period. The research tracks how structural economic vulnerabilities and post-2010 austerity measures interact with exclusionary narratives, with a specific geographical focus on the political realignment of coastal Kent.
