资源简介:
Photograph of interior view of the atrium inside of the Gail Borden Jr. (1801-1874; of condensed milk fame) residence in Alhambra, 1903. This Moorish-style atrium consists of columns supporting arches forming a rectangular center, where a glass ceiling provides greenhouse-like sunlight. Below the glass ceiling are stained glass windows. In the center is a fountain or multi-level platform where a variety of plants in vases are displayed. Spread around the atrium are several wooden chairs, several ferns, and a variety of other types of plants. Parts of the floor are covered with decorative rugs.; "American philanthropist, businessman, and inventor, who envisioned food concentrates as a means of safeguarding the human food supply. He was the first to develop a commercial method of condensing milk, and the dairy company founded by him (renamed Borden, Inc., in 1968) expanded and diversified to become a sizable conglomerate." -- unknown author.
