Processed MERRA-2 Wind and Atmospheric Dataset for Weibull and Wind-Turbine Capacity-Factor Assessment in Al-Hawizeh Marsh, Iraq (2020–2024)

This dataset contains the processed meteorological and derived wind-energy data supporting the study “Bayesian Inference and Temporal Validation of Weibull Models for Wind Turbine Capacity-Factor Assessment in Al-Hawizeh Marsh, Iraq.” The dataset was derived from hourly MERRA-2 M2T1NXSLV (Version 5.12.4) records for 2020–2024 at the reanalysis grid cell centered near 31.5° N, 47.5° E. It includes quality-controlled wind components and derived wind speeds at 10 and 50 m, surface pressure, 2-m air temperature, dry-air density, density-equivalent 50-m wind speed, monthly and annual summaries, Weibull parameter summaries, temporal-validation results, turbine capacity-factor results, and the EWT DW54-500 power curve used in the analysis. The underlying MERRA-2 data are publicly available from NASA GES DISC at https://doi.org/10.5067/VJAFPLI1CSIV. The deposited files are intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and independent verification of the results reported in the associated manuscript.
