Rhodococcus sp. P27 Genome sequencing and assembly

Considering the current scenario of global warming and its effects on the ozone layer depletion, we surveyed epiphytic bacteria associated to Deschampsia antarctica Desv (Poaceae) growing in the Admiralty Bay area, Antarctica, aiming to identify isolates highly resistant to ionizing radiation. The isolate Rhodococcus sp. P27 has shown promising results and was, therefore, selected for genome sequencing for the identification of genes related to this phenotype.
