The purpose of this RNA sequencing experiment was to detect specific genes involved in growth on the sugars mannitol and glucose in the thermophilic acetogen Thermoanaerobacter kivui (DSM 2030). Wild type cells were grown in complex media on either mannitol (harvest OD = 1.3) or glucose (harvest OD = 1.0) and harvested for RNA extraction.
