Aedes aegypti mosquitoes have been release as part of dengue control program in northern Queensland. For surveillance of the release, mosquitoes were sampled around the area of release in Cairns. A sample enriched for Wolbachia present in the mosquito cells was prepared and sequenced, enabling full genomes to be obtained.
