Temperature and Body Size Affect Respiratory Rate in Wild Prairie Rattlesnakes (Crotalus viridis)

Respiratory rate (breaths per minute) data collected at a livestreamed Prairie Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis) rookery in Colorado, USA (viridis_respiratory_rate_csv). All data were collected in 2024. A weather station was set up at the rookery as well as adult and neonate-sized operative temperature models placed in the sun and shade.Two raters collected data on the same observations before collecting the data for our analyses (rater_comparison.csv). All analyses were completed in R bersion 4.3.2.
