Klebsiella pneumoniae are important gram-negative bacteria in the family Enterobacteriaceae particularly in the clinical setting because of their roles in many nosocomial infections. They have been categorized as one of the ESKAPE because of their inherent ability to resist a wide range of antimicrobial agents. Most studies on multi-drug-resistant K. pneumoniae have focused on isolates from nosocomial infections until recently where some species have been recovered from the environment suggesting the possible distribution of multidrug resistant Klebsiella in the community setting. Here we report the complete genome sequence of a multidrug resistant K. pneumoniae strains 7EL isolated from drainage channels, Reynosa Tamaulipas Mexico.
