Ixodes ricinus Assembly

The aim of the study was the identification of transcripts in different life stages of Ixodes ricinus tick species, which includes egg, larvae, fed nymph, female and fed female. Most of the previously published transcriptome assemblies of Ixodes ricinus aimed at the identification of different transcripts in either fed and unfed stages or in particular organs, like midgut or salivary glands. Our study aims at description of whole body transcriptomes of all stages of Ixodes ricinus, in particular, in the identification of transcripts that are associated with tick development.
