资源简介:

Lower section of a High Cross and base of 8th/9th century date standing in the north-west quadrant of Lorrha Graveyard (TN004-010013-) to the west of St Ruadhan's Church of Ireland church (TN004-010008-). The east face of the cross has a panel carved in false relief showing two lion-like animals facing one another with raised paws on the left and, further to the right, a man stretching out his hand towards a similar animal. On the extreme right there is a panel with two crosses in relief which have a square with a hole in the centre at the crossing. A modern headstone placed in front of this cross base blocks the carving. Above this panel there is a procession of animals in relief proceeding towards the left. Above the base on the shaft there are at least two figures. South face depicts a rectangular object with an arc above it near the bottom right-hand corner could suggest an altar with faggots.
