Bioformulations for sugar beet growth promotion

A root rot caused by combined activity of Candidatus Phytoplasma solani and Macrophomina phaseolina, significantly affects sugar beet production in Serbia. As microbial consortia made of beneficial bacteria are recognized as effective green solutions for sustainable agriculture, present study aimed to evaluate efficiency of selected candidates for improving plant health and enhance its microbiome under these important pathogens. Mixed individual strains and three multi-strain inoculants (Mix1, Mix2, Mix3) in pot and semi-field conditions were analyzed by using the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform using the V3 and V4 hypervariable regions of 16S rRNA gene as barcode region.
