Marquandomyces marquandii isolate:ISA501 Genome sequencing

The study aims to generate the complete genome sequence of Metarhizium marquandii, an entomopathogenic fungus isolated from corn rhizosphere soil in Brescia, Italy. Conducted as part of the PRIMA-SIRAM project, this research seeks to elucidate the genetic basis of the fungus pathogenicity, symbiotic interactions, and environmental adaptability. The genome sequence will provide valuable insights into its metabolic pathways, secondary metabolite production, and potential for biocontrol applications. This resource will advance our understanding of M. marquandii's ecological role and facilitate the development of sustainable pest management strategies, contributing to agricultural innovation in alignment with EU environmental goals.
