Roseicella aerolata GB24 attenuates Streptococcus pneumoniae infection via regulates the gut-lung axis pathway

Streptococcus pneumoniae (Spn) was the predominant cause of community-acquired pneumonia in all ages and probiotics may be an appropriate way to prevent Spn infection. However, the mechanism by which probiotics affect the lungs through gut microbiota is still poorly understood. This study was designed to investigate the beneficial effect of a novel strain named Roseicella aerolata GB24T on Spn infection-induced pulmonary inflammation.
