Data for "Selectivity at a price: flux and water loss in the stripping of dilute alcohols by membrane distillation"

Run-level data and calculations for 78 bench-scale experiments on the removal of dilute methanol, ethanol and 2-propanol from deionized water by membrane distillation: 65 direct-contact MD runs (40 in a vertical cell and 25 in a horizontal cell), 7 air-gap MD runs, 5 vacuum MD runs and one isothermal diffusion-cell test, with PVDF, PTFE and PE membranes, feed temperatures of 20 to 55 °C and runs with and without a feed spacer. The deposit contains one Excel workbook with the complete run summary (Table S1 of the related article), the primary data of every run (sampling times, TOC of feed and distillate, alcohol concentrations, masses and alcohol inventories), the data plotted in each figure and the calculations behind them.
