Replication Data for: Unveiling Gendered Terrorism: Why Western Women Joined the Islamic State

This file contains a unique dataset of 114 rhetorical appeals pulled from ISIS' propaganda magazine, Dabiq. 57 of these appeals were directed towards men in 6 issues and the other 57 were targeted at women in 6 issues. In this dataset, I labeled each rhetorical appeal as one or more of seven categories, chosen based on scholars' beliefs about the motivations of individuals to join ISIS.
