The ABC Model: Implementation and Outcomes Data This repository contains data and examination materials from a longitudinal quasi-experimental study evaluating the ABC (Autonomy-Belief-Competence) assessment model in undergraduate mathematics. THE ABC MODEL The ABC model is a novel choice-based assessment approach combining:- Tiered task selection: Examination tasks stratified across three difficulty levels (A/B/C)- Weighted grading: Differentiated point values (10/12/14 points) incentivizing challenge-seeking- Best-N selection: Students' three highest-scoring tasks counted toward final grade- Summative examination context: Applied within high-stakes final examinations Unlike existing approaches where choice is typically limited to formative contexts, ABC operationalizes autonomy support within summative evaluation while maintaining rigorous academic standards. STUDY OVERVIEW Study Period: 2023-2025Institution: Karakalpak State University, UzbekistanSample: 1,572 student-course observations from 261 unique studentsDesign: Within-subject comparison (Traditional vs ABC), longitudinal follow-up (2 years), scale-up evaluation. KEY FINDINGS - Pass rates increased: 45.6% → 91.5% (+45.9 percentage points)- Quality performance (grades 4+5): 27.4% → 60.8% (+33.4pp)- Retake rates declined by 83%: 54.4% → 8.5%- Effects sustained longitudinally into second-year courses- Inter-group performance variation reduced by 52% across language groups (Uzbek, Karakalpak, Russian) REPOSITORY CONTENTS 1.
