Monthly and Annual EVI Maps Supporting Hydrological Analysis in the State of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil

This dataset holds 25 years of monthly and annual raster collections of EVI maps for supporting hydrological analysis in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It includes the aggregated values and also the normals and anomalies related to a reference period. Methods All EVI monthly maps were retrieved from MODIS Terra and Aqua Vegetation Index products via Google Earth Engine scripting. The 8-day period scenes were reduced to the mean considering calendar months. Annual means, normals and the anomalies were computed via python scripting. Definitions: The normal epoch is a reference period in which samples are compared. A normal month (e.g., the normal January) is the mean of all calendar months unde the normal epoch. The annual normal is the mean of all annual samples. The relative anomaly of a given sample is the percent difference from the normal. All calculations are performed via map algebra, ie, pixel-wise reductions.
