The ACE-T1 investigation seeks to answer fundamental questions about behaviors of colloids, helping scientists to understand how to control, change, and even reverse interactions between tiny particles. The objective is to build a fundamental understanding of the behavior of antisotropic (directionally dependent) Janus particles and their 3D self-assembly in microgravity. For decades, important advances have been reported in the literature regarding the effects of directionally dependent particles, both the chemical and morphological aspects, that provide the potential to extend the complexity of the self-assembled structures.
