雾天对于高速公路形成安全构成的危害很大,尤其是突发性团雾。传统针对浓雾的天气采取的措施十分被动,主要是对进入高速公路的车辆采取定时放行的办法,以拉大车距,减少事故的发生。传统方案的缺点在于不能对车辆进行全线管控,虽然在入口处拉大了车距,但随着时间的延长,各车的车速不一致,车辆在浓雾天气中的追尾概率还是比较高。另外,在能见度太低时,采取封道的措施,此举虽然保障安全,但是却会引起大规模车辆滞留,造成极大的不便,也会带来一定的经济损失。 当公路雾区路段的能见度降低至500米以下时,能见度检测仪将浓度信息传递给现场控制主机。雾灯通过高透亮的红黄双色将高速公路边界标出;系统将合适限速信息发布在可变限速指示牌,提示司机安全行驶;利用雾灯的尾迹功能,提示司机的前车距离。通过一系列安全措施,有效降低事故发生率,对恶劣天气下的高速公路交通进行有效管控。
Fog poses significant hazards to expressway traffic safety, especially sudden patch fog. Traditional countermeasures for heavy fog are relatively passive, mainly adopting timed vehicle release at expressway entrances to increase following distances and reduce traffic accidents. The shortcoming of traditional schemes is that they cannot achieve full-line vehicle control. Although the following distance is increased at the entrance, as time passes, vehicle speeds become inconsistent, leading to a relatively high rear-end collision risk even in heavy fog conditions. Additionally, when visibility is too low, closing the expressway—while ensuring traffic safety—will cause large-scale vehicle queuing and congestion, resulting in great inconvenience and certain economic losses. When the visibility of a fog-affected expressway section drops below 500 meters, visibility detectors transmit fog concentration data to the on-site control host. The fog lights mark the expressway boundaries with highly transparent red and yellow dual-color lights; the system releases appropriate speed limit information on variable speed limit signs to remind drivers to drive safely; and the trailing function of the fog lights is used to alert drivers of their safe following distance to preceding vehicles. Through this series of safety measures, the accident rate is effectively reduced, and expressway traffic is effectively managed during severe weather conditions.
