Four experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of supplementing tropical beef cattle with Desmanthus on in vivo methane emissions and performance. Methane emissions were recorded using open-circuit chambers and GreenFeed emissions monitoring systems. During the experiments, live weights were recorded weekly. Rumen fluid and blood plasma metabolites were collected following each chamber periods. The statistical analyses were conducted with RStudio following multiple analysis of variance and linear mixed model procedures. The model was fitted with the restricted maximum likelihood technique. Software/equipment used to create/collect the data: Microsoft Excel for Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.13127.21622) 32-bit Software/equipment used to manipulate/analyse the data: RStudio Version 1.3.1056 (2009-2020 RStudio, PBC) This dataset consists of 4 spreadsheets (1 for each experiment) saved in both MS Excel (.xlsx) and Open Document (.ods) formats.
