资源简介:
This project investigated serial dependence in orientation perception under different levels of stimulus uncertainty. The main task for this project involved participants viewing briefly presented orientation stimuli and then reproducing the presented orientation. The aim of this task was to look at whether prior trials influenced participant responses on the current trial, an effect termed serial dependence. The stimuli in this task could contain either low or high levels of noise. This was so that we could determine whether the level of uncertainty associated with prior and current stimuli affected the level of serial dependence observed. A binary choice task was used to verify that participants found orientation judgements harder for high noise stimuli. Participants were asked to decide whether a series of high or low noise stimuli were oriented to the left or right of a bisecting vertical line. For the adjustment task, data include: presented orientation, participant response noise level For the binary choice task, data include: presented orientation, participant response, reaction time, noise level. Reaction time is not available for the adjustment task due to a coding error.
