Comparative genomics of Rathayibacter toxicus populations

Rathayibacter toxicus is currently geographically limited to Australia and South Africa. Isolates have been collected from varying locations and varying hosts around Australia. Previous studies have delineated population groupings. Additional populations have been determined. Whole-genome sequencing of strains has ben and will continue to be performed. Comparative genomic studies performed will all for better understanding of these populations, as well as give insight into where this organism originated, how it spread, and how it is evolving.
