In 2017, Infrabel launched its new Railpad 2.0 as a European premiere. This is a small rubber pad placed between the rails and concrete sleepers that reduces noise pollution from trains by 3 decibels, equivalent to half the noise pollution caused by vibrations when trains pass.This dataset shows the additional number of km of track equipped with Railpads 2.0 each year, as well as the total number of km of track equipped on the Infrabel network.
