Engagiert für alte Menschen – Hilarion G. Petzold und die Gerontotherapie

Die Arbeit stellt die „gerontotherapeutischen“ Konzepte von Hilarion G. Petzold vor und damit ein Stück Entwicklung moderner Gerontotherapie, die von diesem Pionier der psychotherapeutischen Behandlung alter Menschen als eine integrative „biopsychosoziale“ bzw. sozialökologische Praxis entwickelt wurde. Besonders wird auf seine Entwicklungen der gerontologischen und thanatologischen Weiterbildung für Angehörige helfender, medizinischer und pflegende Berufe in Österreich seit 1977 eingegangen und auf die dabei entstandenen innovativen Modelle. Praxisbeispiel gerontotherapeutischer Arbeit illustrieren die Konzepte. This article is presenting the concepts of “gerontotherapy” as developed by Hilarion G. Petzold, which in the same time depicts some of the developments of modern gerontotherapy, that has been elaborated by this pioneer of psychotherapeutic treatment of the elderly in his integrative “biopsychosocial” approach. Particularly his developments in the training of the helping professions, medical and nursing staff concerning gerontology and thanatology in Austria since 1977 is emphasized leading to innovative models.
