"S&ME, Inc. (S&ME), on behalf of URS Corporation (URS), has completed a Phase I archaeological survey of approximately 6.8 acres at the proposed North Augusta Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Expansion in Aiken County, South Carolina. The project area is located immediately west of the Savannah River and north of the existing water treatment facility in North Augusta (Figures 1 and 2). This work was done in anticipation of compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, given that federal funds from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be used for this project. The services provided by S&ME were performed in general accordance with S&ME Proposal No. 1616-392-13, dated July 2, 2013, and the terms and conditions in Master Services Agreement No. 264050 with URS dated January 13, 2012."
