Lutein and zeaxanthin dietary screeners validation study in healthy Australian and United Kingdom adults

Dataset contains demographic and dietary lutein and zeaxanthin intake data of healthy Australian and United Kingdom adults. Demographic data includes participant age, sex, physical activity levels, height, weight, and country of residence.
Dietary lutein and zeaxanthin intake data was collected via 24-hour diet recalls, a monthly screeners, and weekly screeners.
Participants completed up to eight 24-hour diet recalls, two monthly screeners, and four weekly screeners via online survey platforms.
Intake of lutein and zeaxanthin from the dietary intake tools was estimated using the United States Department of Agriculture food composition tables.
To determine the validity of the monthly and weekly screeners, daily dietary lutein and zeaxanthin intake from these tools were compared against intake from the 24-hour diet recalls using a Bland-Altman plot analysis.
