In this study, we surveyed and compared the bacterial, fungal and inquiline communities from ground-dwelling and suspended of N. ampullaria, N. gracilis and N. rafflesiana pitchers from the same habitat. We hypothesize that the bacterial, fungal, and inquiline communities across the three Nepenthes pitcher plant species could be different due to the different chemical and physical properties of the pitchers. Further, we hypothesize that due to the differences in microhabitat, there could be differences in the bacterial, fungal, and inquiline communities across suspended and ground-dwelling pitchers.
