HEV database

Extrahepatic Hepatitis E virus (HEV) replicates in other body organs, tissue such as the cerebrospinal fluid and it is detected by molecular assays such as RT-PCR and PCR. Sanger sequencing identified HEV genotype 3 in the CSF of individuals with extrahepatic symptoms.
